Make your WordPress website multilingual

Create a multilingual WordPress website with Crowdin

Why Crowdin?

All you need is the Crowdin WPML application. It allows you to synchronize files for translation directly from your WordPress website to the Crowdin localization project and synchronize the translations back to your website.

Once the translations are finished in Crowdin, they’re ready to be delivered to your WordPress website. Each page from your website is uploaded to Crowdin as a separate file. When existing pages are updated on WordPress, the WPML plugin uploads changes to Crowdin as new files.

Machine Translation engines

Order professional translation, work with an external translation agency, translate on your own, invite your community, use MT engine (DeepL Translator, Amazon Translate, Google Translate, and more)
for non-critical content, or combine translation strategies.

An information-filled Knowledge Base, Crowdin Community and support 24/7 guarantees you that you will find the answer to any of your questions.

How it works

Step-By-Step Wix Website Localization with Crowdin’s WPML Plugin

1

Create a Crowdin project

Invite team members, store all sources and translations, manage tasks, and monitor the progress in one place.

2

Install the WPML plugin

Install the WPML plugin and its Translation Management add-on. This will allow you to connect Crowdin as a translation service where you’ll send content for translation.

3

Select target languages

Once you have the plugin installed, open WPML and go to the Languages tab to select the target languages you’ll translate your website into.
Make sure to select the same target languages in the Crowdin project you’re connecting with WPML.

4

Start translation process

In Crowdin Editor, translators can contact team members, filter strings, use TM, MT, and Glossary, view a string's context in the actual product or screenshot, and more.

5

Download Translations

Translation status in WPML is updated automatically. You can check the progress in the Translation Jobs tab.
Once the translations are completed, you can click Get translations or Download the translated XLIFF file.
